Abstract
1339611 Boots &c INDUSTRIEWERKE LEMM & CO GmbH 19 April 1971 [6 Feb 1970] 21231/71 Heading A3B A boot or shoe includes an upper 5 sewn at 7 to a cushion insole 6 and moulded-on outsole (not shown), the underface 9 of the insole 6 being non-permeable to the outsole material when it is in flowable condition during moulding. The outsole is made of non-cushioning thermosetting or thermodeformable material, e.g. polyurethane, and may be injection moulded directly onto the lasted upper 5 and insole 6. The cushion insole 6 may include a layer 10 of cellular material having a layer 8 of roughened textile material on its lower surface, the roughened surface 9 facing the outsole. Alternatively the cellular layer 10 may be formed with a skin (not shown) formed during moulding. The upper surface of the insole 6 may be covered by a layer 11 of textile material. The last (not shown) upon which the upper and insole are mounted during the sole moulding may have recesses formed on its bottom surface. During moulding the insole 6 is forced into the recesses to form a pressure pad, metatarsal support and/or heel bed on the upper surface of the moulded outsole.
