Abstract

1334432 An automatic hand firearm HECKLER & KOCH GmbH 11 May 1971 [14 May 1970] 14273/71 Heading F3C An automatic hand firearm has a charging device with a slider 5 guided by a casing part 2 for longitudinal movement, a charging lever 6 having an arm 12 pivotally supported in a slot 11 of the slider 5 by a pin 13, and a spring 17. The casing part 2 has a slot 10 along which the arm 12 of the charging lever 6 can traverse. The arm 12 has an extension 19 which limits its angular movement by abutting a pin 18 provided at the forward end of the slot 11. The spring 17 acts between the extension 19 and the pin 18 to urge the lever 6 to its position of rest where the arm 12 abuts the end of the slot 10 which is adjacent the wall 21 of the casing part 2. The slider 5, being in its forward position of rest, abuts a stop 25 carried by the casing part 2. The charging lever 6 has a hand grip 23, having a cross-section which is substantially the same as the cross-section of the casing part 2. In use the lever 6 is moved, from its rest position, into contact with the pin 18. The slider 5 is then moved by the lever 6 to its rearward posi. tion to cock the breech. When the slider returns to its forward position it is held there by the lever 6 which is moved to its position of rest by the spring 17.
