Abstract
1318695 Endless conveyers; shoots ROSE FORGROVE Ltd 7 Sept 1970 [10 Sept 1969] 44782/69 Headings B8A and B8S A continuously movable conveyer chain 38 is fitted with removably mounted pockets 37 which are transported for filling with tea bags 11 to one of two collecting stations spaced laterally of the conveyer, the filled pockets then being returned to the moving conveyer. Each pocket 37 has a pair of open-ended slots 42 for engagement with pins 43 upstanding from the chain 38. Each collecting station has a carrier bar 46 supporting a pneumatic cylinder 48 which causes a pair of pegs 52 to engage holes 53 provided in the pocket 37. The bar 46 is movable transversely of the length of the conveyer by a cam-operated arm 54, and a carrier bar 47 is similarly moved by an arm 71. For moving successive pockets 37 into and out of registration with a bag-feeding device 14, a pneumatic cylinder 83 actuates pegs 79 engageable with the pockets 37, the cylinder being mounted on a block 84 for movement along a rod 86 by a cylinder 91. A second filling station has similar pocket-transfer means. The bag-feeding device 14 comprises a reciprocating deflector 23 which causes alternate bags 11 to be directed into shoots 18, 19 and the bags to be stacked, as shown in Fig. 1. A second feeding device 14 is actuated by a link 31. Fig. 4 (not shown) indicates a sequence of movements of pockets which are being filled at one of the collecting stations.
