Abstract
1285705 Testing valves JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd 17 Nov 1969 [1 Oct 1968] 46449/68 Heading F2V A device for testing the seating of a valve component 17, comprises a chamber 11 which is transparent and has an inlet with a non-return valve 14 at its lower end, partially filled with liquid, e.g. kerosene, an outlet 22 at its upper end, and a coupling 19 with an annular seal receive the component 17. In operation air is drawn from the chamber by an ejector 23, and any leakage past the seating in the component 17 will bubble through the liquid in the chamber 11, and be detected. Flow through the inlet is controlled by a needle valve 16. A gauge 24 indicates the pressure in the chamber 11.
