Abstract

1,243,611. Caps for containers. SUNBEAM PLASTICS CORP. 2 Jan., 1970 [8 Jan., 1969], No. 301/70. Heading B8T. A snap-on cap for a container, e.g. an aerosol dispenser 13, has inner and outer skirts 24, 21, the inner skirt having an inturned lip 25 and the outer skirt having an opening 22 which, before the cap is removed from the container, is closed by a diaphragm. The opening 22 enables a tool 28 to be inserted and the broken diaphragm forms a tamper-indicator. Webs 26 between the skirts are formed on either side of the opening 22, and shorter webs 27 at spaced positions, Fig. 2 (not shown), provide further means for causing the skirt 24 to distort when the tool 28 is applied.
