Abstract
1,232,204. Riveting. PRESSAC Ltd. 29 Nov., 1968 [30 Nov., 1967], No. 54473/67. Heading B3U. [Also in Division H2] A method of securing one part of a two-part electrical connector to a circuit board 5 comprises forming a central stem 1 of the said one part with a projecting portion, inserting the projecting portion into a complementary hole in the board 5, and heating the portion until it is soft and deforms into a head 1b which is sufficiently large to prevent withdrawal. Contacts 3b of the connector are soldered to circuitry 4 on the board by dip-soldering, the solder bath also supplying the heat necessary to deform the projecting portion. The connector part is made of thermoplastics material, e.g. polypropylene.
