In an improvement in or modification of the burner assembly of Specification 1,043,269 individual burners 1 are connected together to form one grid on each side of a connecting piece 10 by an L-shaped bracket 14 which extends parallel to the common distributing pipe 8 to which pipe each bracket is detachably secured. A diffuser pipe 15 having radial holes 15<SP>11</SP> for the admission of air and passing through an orifice in the bracket 14 is provided for each burner.
