Abstract
1,218,396. Charging blast furnaces. URALSKY ZAVOD TAYZHELOGO MASHINOSTROENIA IM S. ORDZHONIKIDZE. 5 March, 1968 [10 May, 1967], No. 10621/68. Heading F4B. The counterweighted beam levers 1, 3 of bells 2, 4 respectively of a blast furnace charging device are pivotally mounted on a common supporting shaft 5 and each bell is connected by suspension bars 9 thereto (only the bars of the small bell 4 are shown). The lever 3 is mounted for axial movement on the shaft 5 on a bearing having side lugs which carry adjusting screws and the bearing housing has oval holes for bolts which secure the lever 3 thereto. A rod 10 carrying the bell 4 has a bracing member 11 secured to a slide 12 in a housing 13 adjustably secured to a frame 14 so as to be movable along an axis parallel to that of the shaft 5 to ensure vertical movement of the rod 10. The counterweights of the bell beams are carried by a trolley 17 mounted on a roller table 18 when the relative position of the bells is to be adjusted.
