Abstract

1,210,016. Compression spring elements. GEORGE ANGUS & CO. Ltd. 29 March, 1968 [31 March, 1967], No. 15132/68. Heading F2S. A compression spring element comprises a body 10 of elastomeric material, e.g. foamed polyurethane, deformable by loads applied in the direction D, and a metal plate 12 having an annular peripheral corrugation 14 having a ring of holes 16, the elastomeric material filling the channel of the corrugation and the ring of holes. The element also has an annular portion 18, provided with grooves 20, 22, which forms an axially compressible cushion. The metal plate has a central hole 26, and a nut 24 positioned below the hole 26 provides means whereby the spring element may be secured by a threaded member. The plate 12 also has airvent holes 28. In a modification, Figs. 3, 4 (not shown) the plate has two corrugations (140), (141), and peripherally an apertured flange (34) projecting radially beyond the rib (32), for additional securing means.
