1306971 Resilient mountings G LANG 23 June 1970 [24 June 1969] 30474/70 Heading F2S A resilient wedge-shaped mounting has resilient material 2a secured between inner and outer mounting members 4b, 1a for compression on relative displacement of the members 4b, 1a in one direction, and further resilient material 5b which is deformed only on relative displacement of the members 4b, 1a beyond a predetermined extent in this or the opposite direction. The material 5b is stressed in shear when an adjustable stop 54 engages a member 52. In the embodiments of Figs. 2 and 4 (not shown) the further resilient material (5, 5a) is also stressed in shear. In Figs. 7 and 9 (not shown) the further resilient material (5c, 5d) is stressed in compression, and is attached to the inner, outer mounting members respectively for engagement with the outer, inner mounting members respectively. The further resilient material may have a hardness different from that of the main resilient material. Graphs of the load-deflection characteristics are given (Figs. 6, 11, not shown).
