Abstract
1,209,621. Vehicle window actuating mechanism. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. 1 March, 1968 [20 March, 1967], No. 12937/ 67. Heading E2M. An actuating mechanism for a vehicle window of the kind which are opened or closed through a linkage 12 operable by the rotation of a shaft, includes a bracket 11 through which the shaft 13 extends, a pinion 14 rotatably mounted on the bracket and adapted to drivingly engage the shaft, a worm gear 21 rotatably supported on the bracket in driving engagement with the pinion, an electric motor 17 for rotating the worm gear, and a flexible drive shaft 18 for transmitting rotational movement from the motor to the worm gear so as to move the window in use. The pinion may be provided with a clutch through which the pinion may be drivingly engaged with the shaft 13.
