Abstract
1320843 Sliding panel operating mechanism ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 14 May 1971 [27 May 1970] 14917/71 Heading E2M A sliding member, e.g. a vehicle window or sliding roof, operable by an electric motor 15" through a reduction gearing includes an auxiliary manually operable drive having a hand crank shaft 80 actuable by a crank 101 and engageable with the motors' drive shaft 19' on the end of the shaft remote from the reduction gear. The crank shaft 80 is preferably flexible and contained in a tube 81. The crank may be removable from the tube 81 or fixed therein and, in the latter case, a spring 92 urges coupling means on the shaft 80 and motor shaft 19' apart. The coupling means may be a device on the shaft 80 for gripping the motor shaft 19' or a set of gear wheels 93, 94. The crank 101 may be fixed either rigidly or, as shown, removably to the crank shaft 80 and may comprise a ball 100 having a groove 105 engaging a pin 106 on the shaft 80 such that rotation of the ball causes the pin to follow the groove to thereby move shaft 80 against the spring 92 action. The reduction gearing engages a toothed segment of a pivotal linkage connected to the sliding member Fig. 1 (not shown).
