A housing 12 for the driving mechanism for a sliding roof panel is secured by bolts 14, 15 to the reinforcing frame secured around the roof opening and the drive motor 10 is mounted on shock absorbers 13 to a bracket 11 rotatable about the motor axis being secured in position by a screw 16 engaging through an arcuate slot 21 in the bracket 11. The housing 12 may be formed in two parts rotatable about an axis parallel to the motor shaft.
