Abstract

119,970. Bourne, H. Jan. 21, 1918. Friction gearing.-In bevel friction gearing applicable to horizontal disk grinding-machines &c., driving-pressure is maintained by a spring 11 bearing at one end against the shaft 2 carrying one friction wheel 17, and at the other end against a thimble 5 bearing against a block 9 adjustably screwed into a plate 12 rigidly supported by rods from the framing 15. A screw 22 in the thimble 5 engages a slot 4 in the shaft 2. A sleeve 16 encloses the parts.
