Abstract

1,193,647. Chain links. COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS) Ltd. 22 Sept., 1967 [29 Sept., 1966], No. 43525/66. Heading F2Q. A connector link comprises a pair of similar U-shaped parts 10, 11 interfitted together, each part having a tapered limb 15 and a parallelsided limb 16, the limbs each having transversely extending parallel grooves 17, 19 and teeth 18, 20 which are adapted to engage teeth and grooves on the other part when one part is moved laterally with respect to the other part, and a locking pin 46 inserted in a bore 48 extending through the limbs of the two parts. The adjacent faces of the parallel-sided limbs 16 have interengaging teeth 40 and grooves 42. The faces of the teeth 18, 20 are inclined so that under load the parts of the link resist separation. Various tooth profiles are described.
