Abstract

1,160,113. Spray-producers. R. T. MACGUIRE - COOPER. 5 Aug., 1966 [6 Aug., 1965], No. 33668/65. Heading B2F. An actuator spray head suitable for use with a container containing a compressed gas or a liquified gaseous propellant comprises a generally elliptical swirl chamber provided with at least one generally tangential feed possage 4 and with side walls which taper towards the discharge outlet 7. The areas 5 act as expansion chambers and the spray is whirled in the central area 6 before discharge. Figs 4 and 5 (not shown) depict alternative non-cylindrical swirl chambers in accordance with the invention. The nozzle head of the actuator is a one-piece plastics moulding and in the embodiment of Fig. 6 (not shown) is surrounded by a sleeve.
