Abstract
1,141,380. Gas/liquid fuel burners. SOC. ANON. FRANCAISE MATERIEL AUTOMATIQUE ET TECHNIQUE. 24 Nov., 1966 [8 Dec., 1965], No. 52576/66. Heading F4T. A gas or liquid fuel burner comprises a fan 2 which draws air in through a port 3 and delivers it via a conduit 16 to a volute 17 concentric with burner tube 13 and nozzle or injector 10, the volute 17 being subdivided by one or more intermediate volutes 18 and each volute terminating in a flap 19 mounted on a pivot 20 parallel to fuel line 9, the flaps being movable from outside the burner by keys 21, about a position where they are tangential to the end of the volutes to produce a core-shaped or tongue shaped flame. Fan motor 5 is used to actuate a pump 6 which supplies oil to line 9. Excess air is drawn from the burner tube through apertures 22 into a chamber and delivered to the fan, the amount of recycled air being adjusted by means of valve 25.
