Abstract

1,139,140. Reciprocating pumps. DISTILLERS CO. (CARBON DIOXIDE) Ltd. Aug.25, 1967 [Sept. 16, 1966], No.41585/66. Heading F1A. Liquid, e.g. beer, is delivered under pressure from a tank 12 through a valve 14 to a diaphragm pump 1 from which it is discharged through valves 17, 19 to a nozzle 20 by air pressure applied to the pump diaphragm. The valve 14 includes an electric switch which is open when the valve is open and closed when the valve is closed and in circuit with solenoids controlling the valves 8, 19 so that the liquid may only be dispensed after the pump chamber has been charged. The stroke of the diaphragm may be varied by means of concentric and removable rings secured to one side of the diaphragm.
