[Also in Division F1] Apparatus for delivery in measured quantities of pressurized liquids such as draught beer comprises a rigid container 1, the walls of which are separable at flanges 2 for cleaning purposes and which contains a diaphragm 3, the driven side of the diaphragm having an inlet pipe 7 from a storage vessel (not shown) and the driving side having an inlet 8 from a source of pressure gas such as compressed air or nitrogen, this conduit including a threeway valve 9. The device also has a discharge conduit 10 leading to a normally closed outlet 11. On operation of the control means valve 9 is moved to admit gas from the conduit 8 to chamber 1 and valve 12 of outlet 11 is opened. The diaphragm 3 is deflected by the gas pressure and beer is expelled through outlet 11. Non-return valves 13a, 13b are provided in conduits 7, 10. Conduit 8 has an adjustable needle valve 8a by which the rate of flow into container 1 can be varied and when the diaphragm 3 is fully deflected pressure builds up and eventually operates a normally closed pressure-sensitive switch 14 to break the circuit, close outlet valve 12, return valve 9 to a position which exhausts the driving side of container 1 and thus allows the pressure from the storage tank to refill the other side of the chamber until contacts 6 on the diaphragm co-operate with contacts 4 on the container wall to allow discharge to be repeated. In a modification (not shown) the centre of the diaphragm is attached to a piston, electromagnetically or fluid operated. Two devices may be coupled so that one diaphragm expels while the other is drawing in or two separate pumps may operate in synchronism, one expelling while the other is being filled. In another modification the contacts 4, 6 and switch 14 are replaced by an arrangement including a spindle (22) attached to the diaphragm 3 and having two adjustable collars (23, 24) in the path of which are limit switches (25, 26).
