Abstract

113,755. Irwin, J. R. Sept. 10, 1917. Hooks, slip.-A pivoted hook 20 is provided with a pivoted locking-member 26 which is connected at one end to a pair of levers 31, 32 connected to the casing by a pivot 33 and forming a toggle joint. The joint of the toggle is acted on by a cam lever 36 to lock the hook, and by a link 40 connected to the levers 31, 32 and provided with a slot 41 which moves over and engages a pin on the lever 36 to release the hook. The hook may be arranged vertically or horizontally.
