Abstract

1,123,290. Vehicle interior rear-view mirrors. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. 29 July, 1967, No. 34962/67. Heading B7J. A vehicle interior rear-view mirror assembly comprises a mirror head 5 on one end of a stem 6, the other end of the stem being detachably connected in an aperture 10 of roof header panel 2 and the stem carrying a frusto-conical resilient hollow rubber member 12 which abuts windscreen 3 to steady the assembly, the connection being adapted to break away in the event of an impact on the mirror head. The connection comprises a detent 7 slidable in a bore 9 of the stem and spring loaded so that an end 7a thereof contacts an edge of the aperture. The member 12 is mounted on a threaded stud.
