Abstract

112,292. Lole, A. E. Dec. 29, 1916. Casings.-Relates to centrifugal pumps of the kind provided with a V-shaped opening G which forms a continuation of the main discharge opening C and ensures a gradual cut-off, and consists in forming the casing concentric with the impeller from the point b to the point c, or for about one-sixth of its circumference, and then gradually increasing its radius to the outlet. In a pump of the Leblanc type, Figs. 5, 6, and 7, wherein the air is extracted by the ejector action of water, the discharge opening H is reduced by a wall J having a V-shaped opening J<1> disposed as described above to ensure a gradual cut-off, and the water outlet L may be provided with a corresponding continuation opening L'.
