Abstract

432,743. Centrifugal pumps. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London, and BULLOCK, W., Fraser & Chalmers' Engineering Works, Erith, Kent. March 12, 1934, No. 7801. [Class 110 (i)] Fluid is conducted away from the gland of a centrifugal pump by conduits 18 leading from the boss 16 to the blades 10. The conduits are either radial or helical and are formed when the impeller is cast. In a modification the conduit is formed in a thickened part of the blade and a baffle is provided to give a suction effect.
