Abstract

1,107,616. Earthing rods. O.A. IRBRING. 31 Aug., 1966 [1 Sept., 1965], No. 38830/66. Heading H2C. [Also in Division B3] Adjacent sections la, 1b of an earthing rod are joined by the double conical member 6a which is inserted into the top of the lower member, the upper member then being driven over it so that the ends of both members are spread to provide mechanical and electrical connection between adjacent members. A similar double-conical member forms the leading end of the lower stack and a single cone with a longitudinal slot in its side may be used to wedge a conductor against the side of the topmost tube. Damage to the tube being driven may be avoided by the use of the cap member 8.
