Abstract

805,753. Stays. PERMALI, Ltd. Dec. 21, 1955 [Dec. 24, 1954], No. 37422/54. Class 45. [Also in Group XXV] A stay wire connector 3, Figs. 1 and 2, comprises a unit having a conical bore 4, Fig. 2, into which the end of the stay wire 2 is prefixed by means of a hollow cone-shaped member 7, the unit being provided with trunnions 9 interlocked with an electrical insulating member 1. The trunnions are provided with elongated heads 10 whereby they may be interlocked in elongated apertures 11 in strips 12 bolted to a block 14 of electrical insulating material. The hollow member 7 may be in one part slotted longitudinally or in two or more parts and the exterior surface thereof corresponds to the surface of the bore 4 whilst its interior is cylindrical and serrated at 8 to grip the wire 2. A connector 3 is provided at each end of the insulator 1 and stay wires 2 connect with a pole 15 and a stay rod (not shown) embedded in the ground.
