Abstract

1,103,504. Index tabs. TWINLOCK Ltd. 9 June, 1965 [28 Sept., 1964], No. 39454/64. Heading B6E. A one-piece index tab for a file, folder &c. is moulded from transparent plastics material, such as polystyrene or cellulose acetate, and comprises a pocket portion 11 to receive a label 8, and a pair of resilient tongues 12, 13 extending from a web 10 and each having a ridge or rib 14, 15, respectively. The tab is secured to the suspension rail (2, Fig. 1), of a folder by placing it on top of the rail and pushing down, so that the tongues 12, 13 spring apart, and the ridges 14, 15 snap-over a front lip (4) and the rear edge of the rail, respectively. The tab is slidable along the rail, and may be located in particular positions thereon by beads on the tongue 13 engaging holes or recesses on the rail. Markings on the front tongue 12 and front face of the rail assist the location of the tab with the holes &c. in the rail.
