Abstract

1,091,058. Guide assemblies for lifts. HITACHI Ltd. July 5, 1966 [July 12, 1965], No. 30172/66. Heading B8L. [Also in Division F2] A guide-shoe assembly for an elevator-cage 1, Fig. 1, comprises a shoe-base 5, Fig. 3, which is connectible to the cage 1; a cylindrical housing 12 which is integral with the base 5; a sleeve 10 which is mounted in the housing 12, a resilient bush 11 being positioned therebetween; a shaft 8 which is mounted in the sleeve 10 and carries, at one end thereof, a support member 6; and a slide-member 4 which is pivotally attached to the support-member 6 by means of a pin 7 and which slidably engages a guide rail 17. A compression spring 13 may be provided between the shaft 8 and an adjustable member 16 which is screwably mounted in the sleeve 10. The spring 13 urges the slide member 4 into contact with the guide-rail 17. If required, the spring 13 could be omitted and the shearing stress of the resilient bush 11 utilized to urge the slidemember 4 towards the guide rail 17.
