Abstract

Metal carboxylates are prepared by reacting a dimer, trimer or polymer of an unsaturated aliphatic acid (18 C) with a salt of a metal of Group Ib, IVa, VIIa or VIII of the Mendelef Periodic Table. Examples describe the preparation of the nickel, cobalt, manganese, copper and cobalt salts of the dimer, trimer and polymer of linoleic acid.
