Abstract

A composition having good affinity for dyes comprises a polyolefine and a Group IB, IIIB, IVA, VIIA or VIII metal salt of a dimer, trimer or higher polymer of an unsaturated aliphatic acid containing 18 carbon atoms. Preferred metal salts are those of Al, Cr, Co, Ni, Cu, Mn and oleic, iso-oleic, elaidic, alpha-linolenic, rapic, stearolic and heptadecenic acids. Optional ingredients are didodecyl thiodiglycollate, calcium stearate, phenolic compounds and titanium dioxide. The compositions may be formed into fibres, films, tapes and other shaped articles.
