Abstract
1,080,228. Antifoggants. INTERNATIONAL POLAROID CORPORATION. Aug. 28, 1964 [Aug. 30, 1963], No. 35394/64. Heading G2C. A photographic silver halide material contains as antifoggant a compound of the formula wherein A is a carboxylic or sulphonic acid group, n is from 1 to 4, R is an alkyl group of 1-4C, a phenyl group or hydrogen, X comprises the non metallic atoms necessary to complete a carbocyclic aromatic ring system, Y is O, S or Se and Z is an anion, either in the emulsion layer or a layer in aqueous alkali permeable relationship therewith. The material is particularly useful for diffusion transfer processes such as the dye developer process. The invention also describes developers containing such antifoggants.
