Abstract

1,139,098. Development accelerators. GENERAL ANILINE & FILM CORP. May 19, 1966 [May 28, 1965], No.22262/66. Heading G2C. Exposed silver halide emulsions are developed by treatment with an aqueous developer solution containing a silver halide developing agent in the presence of a water-soluble polyoxyalkylenated 1,4-butyne diol of formula: - wherein R is ethylene or propylene and R 1 R 2 , R 3 and R 4 are H or alkyl and 1 to 4C and m+n has a minimum value of 7, as accelerator. The accelerator may be in the developer solution and the process is particularly useful in reversal colour photography.
