Abstract

1,074,653. Container closures. JENCONS (SCIENTIFIC) Ltd. Jan. 21, 1965 [Jan. 27, 1964], No. 3362/64. Heading B8T. [Also in Division F4] The closure between a bowl 11 and a cover 16 of a vacuum desiccator is formed between corresponding annular joint surfaces 13, 18 by means of a tapered groove 14 in the surface 13 of the bowl which seats a resilient 0-ring seal 15 so as to inhibit the seal from settling on the base of the groove 14. The thickened wall portion 17 of the cover terminates in an annular lower face 18 having around its periphery a shallow projecting stepped portion 19. An additional resilient ring or rings 20 may be mounted in a part-circular peripheral groove in the bowl and/or cover for protection purposes.
