Abstract
1,055,252. Watches. P-A NARDIN. Oct. 2, 1963 [Oct. 5, 1962], No. 38880/63. Heading G3T. A watertight watchcase, Figs. 2 to 6 (not shown) comprises a body including a case band 1, Fig. 1 (not shown), and the glass 2, and a bottom 3 removably secured to the case band by screw threads formed on facing surfaces of the case band and bottom. These facing surfaces are correspondingly truncated conical surfaces and the tightness of the seal between the case band and the bottom is ensured by the mutual engagement of the screw threads. One or both of the threaded surfaces may be provided on an inlaid ring or rings 28, 29, and one surface may be provided on a softer material than the other to assist sealing Figs. 7 and 8 (not shown). The threads of one part may correspond exactly to the helical gaps extending between the threads of the other part.
