Abstract

1,066,552. Formwork for casting road haunches. ACROW (ENGINEERS) Ltd. Nov. 7, 1963 [Oct. 17, 1962], No. 39371/62. Heading E1S. Formwork for casting the haunches of a road comprise pairs of forms 2, 3 having uprights 6 to each of which is welded one of a pair of horizontal members 12, 14 which extend beyond the opposite upright and on which are welded angle members 18 or 20 engaging the opposite upright casting position, links 22, 24 connecting the angle members to a lifting plate 10. When the plate 10 is lifted by a crane the angle members are drawn together and the upper ends of the uprights 6 are separated, thus stripping the forms outwardly. When the members 12, 14 engage stops 8 the forms are lifted clear of the casting. The uprights each comprise two angle members embracing both horizontal members which are locked in cast position by wedges 26, 28 passing through holes in the members. The stops 8 are bolts and distance pieces connecting the two parts of the uprights. The shuttering has screw adjustable supports 46.
