Abstract
812,289. Wall shuttering. ACROW (ENGINEERS) Ltd. Jan. 4, 1957 [Jan. 25, 1956], No. 2544/56. Class 20(2) Formwork panel soldiers comprise two hinged parts, one 16 attachable to a panel, the other 17 to an existing structure 10 both provided near the hinge 18 outwardly extending members 20, 24 and with means 26 between the outer ends of the members to adjust the angle between the two parts 16, 17. Soldiers consist of upper and lower parts 16, 17 each formed of two channel sections arranged back to back with a space between the backs. A loose bolt 18 acts as a hinge between a flat end plate on the channel of the upper part 16 and a curved end plate on the channels of the lower part 17. A steel shuttering panel 14 (strengthened by horizontal channels 44) is attached to the top part 16 and the lower part 17 is fixed to the wall 10 by bolts 34 passing between the channel sections comprising the parts 16 and 17 of the soldiers to engage in sockets 32 cast in the wall. Angles 38 also engage in holding plates 38a. Frame 20, 21, 22 is separated from frame 24, 25 by a screw coupling 26 which can vary the plane of the casting face by 4 degrees. Three soldiers may be used for each panel, the horizontal distance between the bolts being substantially the height of the panel. Bars 20 or 24 may serve as bases for platform planks and bars 21 for the attachment of handrails.
