Abstract

1,044,427. Fuel supply systems. FORD MOTOR CO. Ltd. July 28, 1965, No. 32212/65. Heading F1B. When an I.C. engine 12 is stopped and fuel between pump 13 and a reservoir 14 vaporizes, fuel is returned to tank 11 from the reservoir via tube 15 until the small space between the top of the reservoir and the bottom of tube 15 is filled with vapour, whereafter only vapour is returned to the tank. When the engine is restarted, fuel is drawn up from the bottom of tube 16 and is delivered to the engine together with fuel vapour which enters tube 16 through a bleed hole 17. The diameter of hole 17 may be between 0À5 and 1 mm.
