Abstract
1,036,324. Terminal blocks. CURTIS DEVELOPMENT & MFG. CO. Sept. 28, 1963, No. 38312/63. Heading H2E. A rail-mounted terminal block has an insulating body 10, Fig. 1, formed with two slots, between walls 12, 13, 12, into which fit doubleended terminals 28, the block being secured to a metallic channel member 46 by means of a spring clip 35, attached to the underside of the body 10 and having prongs 41 which engage the sides 47 of the channel member 46. The spring 35 is mounted upon the body 10 by positioning the parts 39, at one end of the spring, upon the pads 19 of one side of the body 10, and flexing the spring inwardly, so that on release the parts 39, at the other end, snap over the pads 19 at the other side of the body. The block is then mounted in the channel member 46 by pushing downwards so that the prongs 41 slip past and engage the under edge of the sides 47. Removal of the block from the channel is accomplished by using a bar-like tool, e.g. a suitably sized screwdriver. The channel member has holes 48 for attachment of the member to a base, or of clips to lock the blocks in position, a pair of lugs 49 also serving the latter purpose. The terminals 28 are secured within their slots by pins 31 and each may be identified by means of a marking strip 24 for each block 10. A number of terminal blocks may be mounted along a channel member and each is individually removable.
