Abstract

1,032,942. Pipe or rod connections. A. E. GAUTIER [trading as MORDEX PRECISION INDUSTRIES]. March 23, 1965 [Feb. 6, 1964], No. 5019/64. Heading F2G. [Also in Division E2] Two tubes &c. 19, 20, particularly the two parts of the pole of an angler's umbrella, are joined by a hinge comprising a stem 8 screwed into one tube 20 and pivoted on a pin 6 in the other tube 19, the tubes being held in line or at an angle by the engagement of the angled end 9 of the tube 19 with a washer 10 having a cooperating angled face, the faces being held in engagement by screwing the tube 20 down the stem 8. The tubes may also be secured at rightangles by engaging the washer 10 when turned through 90 degrees with one side of the tube 19.
