Abstract
1,021,166. Supply circuits for discharge lamps. PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd. Aug. 31, 1964 [Sept. 3, 1963], No. 35521/64. Heading H2H. The thermionic electrodes 8, 9 of a discharge lamp 4 inductively stabilized by a choke coil 3 are supplied from the secondary windings 10, 11 of a choke coil 5 which with a capacitor 6 provides capacitive stabilization for a second discharge lamp 7, whose electrodes 12, 13 are supplied from the windings 14, 15 of a transformer 16 in parallel with the lamp 4. The method of operation is described and typical values given of current and voltage in the lamp circuits for a 240-volt, 50-cycle supply.
