A clip in or for a suspension system for panels or the like comprises a substantially flat base to be connected to a cross-member on a panel, and an end at right angles to the base, the end including at least two parts able to receive and grip a strip-like member between them. As shown, ceiling or wall panels 16 having on their rear surfaces cross-members 15 are held to striplike support members 18 by clips having flanges which loosely fit around the cross-members, the clips having ends 13 which grip flanges 19 on the members 18. The support members 18 may be of T-section and the web of the T may be offcentre. In a ceiling or wall suspension system, the base of the clip may have any of the forms described in Specification 1,015,981
