Abstract

The rectangular hollow section with integral channel formations (2, 3, 5) and internal reinforcing ribs (9, 10) may be of extruded al, and is for use as a window-board, ie. lining the window opening in prepn. for metal window frames etc. The section is pref. of the same metal as the frame to obviate galvanic couples, and is cut to length on site for frame fabrication. The back face (4) of the section has a continuous slot-mouthed channel (5) which receives the heads (7) of e.g. fish-tailed anchor ties (6). Two continuous half-round channels (2, 3) on the exposed major face (1) locate gaskets which form a sealed bedding-joint for the window frame. Two continuous longitudinal channels (9, 10) of slotted circular section are provided on the internal face of the back wall, and locate screws when forming frames.
