A mixing chamber with off-centre side entries and top exit giving a homogeneous mixt. by turbulence has in >=1 of the entries, an insert with preset bore so that constits. are mixed in correct proportions. The insert cannot be adjusted or removed during operation. Appts. is used for mixing liqs. by turbulence, e.g. softened water, from water softener and hard water to give correct TH (hydrotimetric degree), and reduces effects of wear, and pref. currents and pressure variation on desired mixt.
