Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a film-like or columnar medium for electrophoresis in a production process for the medium for electrophoresis by substantially equalizing the viscosities of two kinds of aq. solns. having different concns. prior to mixing. CONSTITUTION:Two kinds of the aq. solns. contg. acrylamide compds. and crosslinking agents at different concns. are mixed while the relative mixing ratios are gradually changed. The mixture is crosslinked and polymerized in the presence of a polymn. initiator while the predetermined gradual changes in the concns. of the acrylamide compds. and the crosslinking agents are formed. The viscosities of two kinds of the aq. solns. having the different concns. prior to mixing are substantially equalized at this time. The difference between the viscosities of two kinds of the aq. solns. is within 12% above and below the average value of the viscosities of two kinds of the liquids to be mixed, based on said average value. The film-like or columnar film for electrophoresis is thereby obtd.
