907,641. Mixing pastes in definite proportions. DEUTSCHE GOLD-UND SILBERSCHEIDEANSTALT. Jan. 29, 1959 [Feb. 4, 1958], No. 3281/59. Class 86. An apparatus for mixing pasty substances in definite proportions, especially adhesives and other materials which inter-act with polymerization, comprises a mixing chamber 5 containing a single or multi-thread mixing and conveying worm (which may be of irregularly decreasing pitch, see Fig. 4, not shown) and having supply ducts 3 and inlet passages 4, whose cross-sectional areas may be in approximately the same ratio as the quantities of substances to be mixed and which may have fine adjustment needle valves 9. The discharge nozzle 7 may be attached to the mixer by a screw or bayonet joint, as may the mixer to the driving means 6 through a connector 8. The mixer may be heated or cooled and the terminal mixing core 11 of the worm 1 may have grooves 12 parallel to the worm axis (see also Figs. 2 and 3, not shown).
