Abstract

A machine for stamping post or other documents comprises a plurality of, e.g. four, permanently inked printing surfaces 11 on a block 15 rotatably mounted on a shaft 13, the block being rotated a quarter turn after each impression by a spring-loaded lever 20 which engages lugs 18 mounted on a plate 19 fixed to the shaft 13. The printing head is depressed by a pedal 2 acting on the printing head through a stress-limiting spring 10 and levers 7, 6. The printing surfaces 11 are mounted on supports 12 clamped by rubber pads 14.
