Abstract
1,029,596. Plate clamping apparatus. BLOCK & ANDERSON Ltd. Aug. 14, 1962 [Aug. 16, 1961], No. 29607/61. Heading B6C. An image-bearing hectographic master sheet 27 is secured to the printing drum 26 of a rotary spirit duplicator between coacting flanges 11, 14 of clamping plates 10, 13 of a clip located in a longitudinal slot formed in the drum. The plate 13 is slidably mounted in the slot on the plate 10 such that upward movement thereof against compression springs 23 by rocked levers 29, effects release of the sheet from between the flanges 11, 14. The plate 10 is fixed to a backing plate 24 by screws 22, each of which also serves to secure a bridge member 21 to the plate. Each member 21 has a pair of spaced apertures at each end by which it is slidingly mounted upon guide rods 20. These rods are carried by U-shaped mounting blocks 17 rigidly attached to the plate 13, the springs 23 being located around the rods and extending from the lower face of the associated end of a member 21 to the upper face of the associated lower limb of a block 17. The assembled clip is secured in the slot by screws 28 which pass through holes in the flange 12 of the plate 10.
