Abstract

431,380. Addressing-machines; printing-surfaces. STAFFORD, W., 17, Bute Road, Ilford, Essex. Jan. 6, 1934, No. 639/33. [Class 100 (ii)] In dating-devices for addressing- machines, of the kind comprising an auxiliary printing-plate arranged adjacent to the address-printing device in printing position and adapted to print in conjunction therewith by means of an ink-ribbon associated with which is an ink-ribbon guide k fitted with pegs c engaging holes in the machine frame, the dating-device consists of a thin metal plate h the ends of which are passed through slots a in a holder l and are bent over to secure the plate thereto. Tho ink-ribbon guide k is placed on the holder l so that the pegs c pass through holes b in the holder, and the assembly is then placed in the machine, the pegs c entering holes in the machine frame. Fig. 5 is a section through the usual anvil f taken along a plane parallel to the address-plate guideway, g being an addressplate in printing position and j the ink-ribbon.
