Plancha eléctrica que comprende una suela calentada por medio de una resistencia eléctrica de calentamiento (2) y un sistema de regulación térmica, en el que un órgano de mando (4) indica el valor de consigna de temperatura correspondiente al tejido que hay que planchar, un captador (5) da la imagen de la temperatura de la suela, y un sistema de gestión (6) manda la apertura o el cierre del circuito de alimentación (1) de la resistencia eléctrica de calentamiento (2), en función del desvío entre la consigna y la medición, caracterizado porque comprende un sistema de seguridad (10) que comprende un módulo electrónico (9), que a) recibe del sistema de gestión (6) la información de cierre del circuito de alimentación (1) de la resistencia eléctrica de calentamiento (2), b) realiza en un intervalo de tiempo fijado la suma de las duraciones de alimentación, c) y abre el circuito de alimentación (1) de la resistencia eléctrica de calentamiento (2) si el valor así obtenido es inferior a un valor de umbral predeterminado.
