Definitions
- the invention relates to a pre-assembled grooved sliding closure system for window sills and other parapet, parapet and wall coverings.
- a grooved sliding closure in the sense of the present invention is an element on which the end of a cover element rests, whereby the cover element can move in the plane of the support surface, i.e. can slide over the closure element.
- Grooved sliding closures according to the invention can form a closure for the cover element to a wall or a reveal, or the closure or connection of a cover element to an adjacent cover element.
- the grooved sliding closure could be referred to as a grooved sliding element, grooved sliding profile, grooved sliding connector, etc.
- the window sill is then placed on the installed grooved sliding ends and can “move” there.
- the thermally caused change in length of the window sill is therefore decoupled from the facade.
- Another disadvantage of this mounting system is that in sun protection systems the guide rails from the curtain often protrude down over the edge of the sill, in which case there is no longer a window sill if the grooved sliding ends have already been installed can be inserted.
- the window sill screw bar would rest against the guide rails.
- the grooved sliding ends consist of a substantially L- or T-shaped profile element, with the window sill resting on the footbridge, which has at least one groove.
- the grooves can be present as depressions in the foot bar, or can be designed as at least two parallel, spaced webs on the foot bar.
- a sealing strip is usually arranged in a groove, for example inserted, and a second groove is empty and serves to drain away water if it could overcome the sealing strip.
- the sealing strip can be connected to the end element, for example as a sealing lip, in the case of DE102013012374A1 the sealing lip and the end element consist of different plastics that are connected in one piece.
- the US 8695293 B2 refers to a cover for an opening of a door or window, the cover draining accumulated moisture from the entire opening.
- the US 2005144865 A1 refers generally to window and door installations and more specifically to threshold pans that are installable beneath window and door units to prevent water migration into underlying frames and subfloors.
- Inserted sliding closures are also known, which are usually constructed in two or more parts.
- a housing usually includes a seal into which the window sill is integrated during assembly.
- the seal usually absorbs the thermally caused change in length of the window sill and thus decoupled from the facade or connecting components.
- These sliding closures can be pre-assembled on the window sill.
- the sliding function is limited by the required clamping effect of the required seal.
- such closures are usually only available as a flush-mounted version.
- the object underlying the invention is to simplify and accelerate the assembly of a grooved sliding closure system.
- the possibility of using a grooved sliding closure system should be created for sun protection guide rails that have already been installed and which protrude down over the edge of the sill.
- window sills which are probably the most common application compared to parapets, parapets or wall coverings or roof borders.
- the flexible bonding of the grooved sliding ends to the window sill is preferably carried out through the sealing strips, in that they are designed to be elastic and adhesive at least on their base and top surfaces.
- the sealing strips are therefore glued to both the grooved sliding ends and the window sill, so that they are fixed in position relative to one another, with the required mobility of the window sill when the grooved sliding ends are installed via the elastic deformability of the flexible adhesive connection remains.
- a flexible connection is also possible via a piping (reinforced edge of a fabric, a tarpaulin or a rubber seal), which is integrated into the grooved sliding closure or cover element.
- the piping can be inserted sealingly into a rail or groove in the cover element or sliding closure, and the free end of the sealing material, tarpaulin or rubber seal adjoining the piping can be sealingly connected, in particular glued, to the other element.
- the rubber seal can also have a piping at both ends, one being inserted into a groove on the grooved sliding end and the other into a groove on the cover element.
- the bonding is reversible or detachable, with the adhesive connection of the window sill and the sealing strip preferably being less strong than the adhesive connection of the sealing strip with the grooved sliding end.
- the adhesive connection can be released by using force or by a deliberate, gradual loss of the adhesive effect, for example due to the weather (moisture and/or temperature changes) or due to repeated relative movement between the window sill and the grooved sliding edge. The loss of the adhesive effect results in a truly loose storage of the window sill, so that the flexible adhesive material offers no resistance to the expansion of the window sill.
- the bonding is preferably carried out by providing foams or elastic clampable rubber materials, which form the sealing strip, with a lower and an upper adhesive layer.
- the bonding can be carried out using elastic, sprayable adhesive sealants, which, for example, are applied to the grooved sliding end in the form of an adhesive bead and can thus preferably also form the sealing strip.
- the preferred pre-assembled grooved sliding closure system has at least two grooved sliding closures 1, a cover element 2, which is, for example, a window sill and at least two, preferably four sealing strips 3, which are preferably designed as adhesive sealing strips.
- the grooved sliding closure system can preferably comprise at least two removable spacers, which are inserted into the expansion joints between the cover element 2 and the grooved sliding closures 1 until assembly is completed, in order to ensure central installation of the covering element 2.
- the system can preferably comprise two sealing plasters (butyl plasters), which are glued over all three adjacent surfaces of a corner area of the connection strip 2.1 of the cover element 2 and a grooved sliding closure 1.
- Each grooved sliding closure 1 has at least one support leg 1.1, or can only consist of a support leg 1.1 provided with grooves or grooves. The two lateral ends of the cover element 2 rest on the support legs 1.1 of the two grooved sliding ends 1.
- the grooved sliding closures 1 preferably have a flat piece 1.3 lying parallel to the connecting strip 2.1, which closes the corner area between the vertical leg 1.2 and the support leg 1.1 of the grooved sliding closure 1. Alternatively, this corner area can be open and based on the AT 11263 U1 be sealed with a butyl plaster.
- a sealing material can be used between the flat piece 1.3 and the connecting strip 2.1, for example by coating the flat piece 1.3.
- a seal usually in the form of a joint sealing tape, can be stuck on the back, i.e. the surface facing the building, which is formed by the connection strip 2.1 and the flat piece 1.3, for example over the entire length or only in the corner area.
- the joint sealing tape preferably also extends over at least part of the length of the vertical leg 1.2.
- the pre-assembled system as in Fig. 2 shown, is delivered as a unit to the place of use and placed on the prepared parapet and aligned at the desired height parallel to the window.
- the support legs 1.1 and the cover element 2 are generally mounted at a slight angle sloping away from the window, for example at an angle of 5° to the horizontal.
- the support legs 1.1 and the cover element 2 can also have a different angle to the horizontal, or, in particular in the case of wall coverings, can be mounted horizontally.
- connection strip 2.1 has at least two elongated holes through which it is screwed to the base profile or frame of the window.
- the grooved sliding ends 1 are usually attached to the parapet, for example with assembly adhesive or mounting bracket.
- the vertical legs 1.2 of the grooved sliding ends 1 are plastered into the window reveal and are often initially fixed in position using mounting brackets or by gluing.
- the support leg 1.1 of the grooved sliding closure 1 is preferably designed to be angled downwards at its front end and, in the finished building, protrudes over the facade to form a drip edge.
- the cover element 2 also has a downwardly angled section 2.2 at its front end, which protrudes over the drip edge of the grooved sliding end 1 and preferably engages under it in a hook-shaped manner as in Fig. 3 shown.
- the vertical leg 1.2 of the grooved sliding closure 1 has at its front end a section 1.2.1 which protrudes downward and projects laterally beyond the cover element 2 to the front and downwards and the downwardly angled section 1.1.1 of the support leg 1.1 to the rear. The water running off in the grooves of the sliding cover 1 reached the channel formed by the hook-shaped lower edge of the cover element 2 and runs out of this in the expansion gap between the cover element 2 and the vertical leg 1.2.
- Figs. 4a-4c the profile of a particularly preferred grooved sliding closure 1 is shown, where in Fig. 4a the window sill or the cover element 2 and the sealing strips 3 are shown at a medium temperature, in Fig. 4b at cold temperature and in Fig. 4c at warm temperature.
- the grooved sliding end 1 has a support leg 1.1 and a vertical leg 1.2, which together form an L-shaped cross section in the example.
- the vertical leg 1.2 could also protrude downwards over the support leg 1.1, resulting in a T-profile.
- a sealing strip 3 is inserted into at least one groove and at least one groove remains free to facilitate the drainage of water.
- the webs 1.4 can have a projection 1.4.1 projecting into the groove at their upper end, so that a piping can be inserted into the groove.
- the support leg 1.1 preferably has at least four grooves, a sealing strip 3 being inserted into two of these grooves and at least one free groove adjoining the vertical leg 1.2 and at least one free groove being arranged between the grooves with sealing strips. Both of these sealing strips 3 are preferably designed to be adhesive on both sides, so that the pre-assembled system has improved torsional rigidity.
- the grooves provided with sealing strips 3 are wider than the sealing strips 3 in order not to restrict the mobility of the sealing strips.
- the sealing strips 3 are glued into the grooves and protrude slightly from them, with the sealing strips 3 preferably being compressed by the weight of the cover element 2 glued to them to such an extent that the cover element 2 rests on the webs 1.4.
- the first groove adjoining the vertical leg 1.2 can preferably protrude into the expansion joint between the cover element 2 and the vertical leg 1.2.
- the sealing strip 3 can have any cross-section, for example round, oval or polygonal. As shown, the sealing strip 3 preferably has a rectangular cross-section, which when the length of the cover element 2 changes as in 4b and 4c shown is deformed into a parallelogram.
- the vertical leg 1.2 When installed flush-mounted, the vertical leg 1.2 has a further leg at its upper end region, which preferably extends parallel to the cover element and which serves as a lower edge for the plaster layer of the window reveal and which can preferably optionally be attached as an attachment bracket 4, as in Fig. 4c shown.
- Suitable materials for the cover element 2 and the end elements 1 are, for example, metal sheets, plastics or painted or coated metal sheets or plastics.
- the cover element 2 can also consist of natural or artificial stone or wood materials.
- both grooved sliding ends 1 can be present as connectors, which are required for long covers in order to connect several consecutive cover elements 2 to one another.
- Such grooved sliding ends 1 designed as connectors are in the Fig. 5a-c shown as an example. With these grooved sliding ends designed as connectors, the two cover elements 2 would be placed or glued on to the left and right of the imaginary center line with play relative to each other. It can be particularly advantageous to design the grooved sliding connections 1, each resting on a soffit or wall, with the associated cover element 2 and the next grooved sliding closure 1 designed as a connector, as a pre-assembled system according to the invention.
- the Fig. 5a shows a grooved sliding closure 1 designed as a corner connector for an external building corner, which can connect two cover elements 2 lying at an angle of 90 ° to one another, with no vertical leg 1.2 being present, as shown.
- the flat pieces 1.3 on the two end sides have holes for attachment to the building or to the frame.
- the Fig. 5b shows a grooved sliding closure 1 designed as a butt connector for two cover elements 2, which has a connecting web at the rear end for attachment to a wall or a frame.
- the Fig. 5c shows the simplest form of a grooved sliding closure 1 designed as a butt connector, which consists exclusively of a support leg 1.1 with webs 1.4.
- Fig. 5d shows a grooved sliding closure 1 for an open end of a cover element 2 (is present, for example, when a window opening merges into a door opening), in which the vertical leg 1.2 extends mainly downwards in order to cover the assembly joint lying under the grooved sliding closure 1. It is at the discretion of the expert Figs. 5a-5d to combine the disclosed features of the grooved sliding closures 1 as desired, or to provide one or more of these in the pre-assembled grooved sliding closure system according to the invention.

Description
The invention relates to a pre-assembled grooved sliding closure system for window sills and other parapet, parapet and wall coverings.
A grooved sliding closure in the sense of the present invention is an element on which the end of a cover element rests, whereby the cover element can move in the plane of the support surface, i.e. can slide over the closure element. Grooved sliding closures according to the invention can form a closure for the cover element to a wall or a reveal, or the closure or connection of a cover element to an adjacent cover element. Alternatively, the grooved sliding closure could be referred to as a grooved sliding element, grooved sliding profile, grooved sliding connector, etc.
Known grooved sliding closure systems must be installed in individual steps. This means that the side ends, i.e. the sliding elements, must be assembled in advance. Pre-assembly is complex and time-consuming, and therefore also cost-relevant. What is particularly complex is that the side ends have to be assembled in advance and must be precisely aligned both horizontally and vertically. The angle of the side ends to the window and the facade or other surfaces must also be set up in advance. In addition, the exact distance between the two attached ends must be taken into account. Once the complex setup of the individual terminations and connectors has been completed, they still need to be fixed. To do this, they can be glued or screwed to the window reveal or the parapet or the parapet, which often requires a complex assembly of angles or brackets. The window sill is then placed on the installed grooved sliding ends and can “move” there. The thermally caused change in length of the window sill is therefore decoupled from the facade. Another disadvantage of this mounting system is that in sun protection systems the guide rails from the curtain often protrude down over the edge of the sill, in which case there is no longer a window sill if the grooved sliding ends have already been installed can be inserted. The window sill screw bar would rest against the guide rails.

Inserted sliding closures are also known, which are usually constructed in two or more parts. A housing usually includes a seal into which the window sill is integrated during assembly. The seal usually absorbs the thermally caused change in length of the window sill and thus decoupled from the facade or connecting components. These sliding closures can be pre-assembled on the window sill. However, the sliding function is limited by the required clamping effect of the required seal. Furthermore, such closures are usually only available as a flush-mounted version. The object underlying the invention is to simplify and accelerate the assembly of a grooved sliding closure system. In addition, the possibility of using a grooved sliding closure system should be created for sun protection guide rails that have already been installed and which protrude down over the edge of the sill.
To solve the problem, a pre-assembled groove sliding closure system according to
In particular, it is proposed to glue the side grooved sliding ends (end pieces/border profiles/ends) to the window sill or other covering element using a flexible adhesive connection. This means that the entire cover or window sill system can be installed as a unit, making the alignment of the grooved sliding ends significantly easier. This "unit" also makes it possible to thread the cover or window sill system under sun protection guide rails, which protrude over the edge of the sill, and to install it properly.
The invention is subsequently described using the example of window sills, which are probably the most common application compared to parapets, parapets or wall coverings or roof borders.
The flexible bonding of the grooved sliding ends to the window sill is preferably carried out through the sealing strips, in that they are designed to be elastic and adhesive at least on their base and top surfaces. The sealing strips are therefore glued to both the grooved sliding ends and the window sill, so that they are fixed in position relative to one another, with the required mobility of the window sill when the grooved sliding ends are installed via the elastic deformability of the flexible adhesive connection remains. According to the invention, a flexible connection is also possible via a piping (reinforced edge of a fabric, a tarpaulin or a rubber seal), which is integrated into the grooved sliding closure or cover element. The piping can be inserted sealingly into a rail or groove in the cover element or sliding closure, and the free end of the sealing material, tarpaulin or rubber seal adjoining the piping can be sealingly connected, in particular glued, to the other element. The rubber seal can also have a piping at both ends, one being inserted into a groove on the grooved sliding end and the other into a groove on the cover element.
In a variant according to the invention, the bonding is reversible or detachable, with the adhesive connection of the window sill and the sealing strip preferably being less strong than the adhesive connection of the sealing strip with the grooved sliding end. The adhesive connection can be released by using force or by a deliberate, gradual loss of the adhesive effect, for example due to the weather (moisture and/or temperature changes) or due to repeated relative movement between the window sill and the grooved sliding edge. The loss of the adhesive effect results in a truly loose storage of the window sill, so that the flexible adhesive material offers no resistance to the expansion of the window sill.
The bonding is preferably carried out by providing foams or elastic clampable rubber materials, which form the sealing strip, with a lower and an upper adhesive layer. In a second preferred variant, the bonding can be carried out using elastic, sprayable adhesive sealants, which, for example, are applied to the grooved sliding end in the form of an adhesive bead and can thus preferably also form the sealing strip.

A sealing material can be used between the flat piece 1.3 and the connecting strip 2.1, for example by coating the flat piece 1.3. Alternatively, in the pre-assembled system, a seal, usually in the form of a joint sealing tape, can be stuck on the back, i.e. the surface facing the building, which is formed by the connection strip 2.1 and the flat piece 1.3, for example over the entire length or only in the corner area. The joint sealing tape preferably also extends over at least part of the length of the vertical leg 1.2.
The connection strip 2.1 has at least two elongated holes through which it is screwed to the base profile or frame of the window. The grooved sliding ends 1 are usually attached to the parapet, for example with assembly adhesive or mounting bracket.
When flush-mounted, the vertical legs 1.2 of the grooved sliding ends 1 are plastered into the window reveal and are often initially fixed in position using mounting brackets or by gluing.
The support leg 1.1 preferably has at least four grooves, a sealing
The grooves provided with sealing
The first groove adjoining the vertical leg 1.2 can preferably protrude into the expansion joint between the
Suitable materials for the
