Definitions
- the invention relates to an atomizer, in particular a rotary atomizer, and a corresponding operating method according to the independent claims.
- paint systems for painting automobile body parts various paint systems are used as wet paints, namely solvent paints and water-based paints that are more environmentally friendly.
- the application of the various paint systems takes place here by atomizers, which may be embodied, for example, as a rotary atomizer and in addition to a paint line for supplying the wet paint with the desired color also have a purge line to rinse the atomizer during breaks in operation or a color change with a detergent, said the detergent is adapted to the particular paint system used.
- valve arrangement which serves to mix the various components (for example stock varnish / hardener) of a multicomponent varnish.
- this known valve arrangement is not suitable for supplying different paint systems (eg water-based paint / solvent-based paint).
- the invention is therefore based on the object to improve the known atomizer described above accordingly and to specify an associated operating method.
- the invention comprises the general technical teaching of providing separate paint feeds for the different paint systems in the atomizer, so that the atomizer can be operated alternately with the different paint systems.
- the differentiation between different paint systems used in the invention preferably distinguishes solvent-based paints on one side and water-based paints on the other side, wherein the two paint systems can each be supplied in different colors.
- Different-colored water-based paints thus belong within the meaning of the invention to the same paint system, as well as solvent-based paints with different colors are assigned to the same paint system.
- the in the frame The term coating system used in the invention thus encompasses all components of the respective coatings, such as, for example, solvents, binders, additives, dyes, and fillers.
- the various coating systems can thus, for example, as in the above-mentioned case, be differentiated by the solvent used, the one solvent system being essentially a solvent Water may contain, while the other paint system may contain an organic solvent.
- a primer may be applied with a water-based paint, followed by a waterborne basecoat and then a solvent-borne clearcoat.
- the various paint feeders for the individual paint systems each have separate main needle valves that provide a common application element (e.g., a bell cup) to the various paint systems.
- a common application element e.g., a bell cup
- an application element preferably is based on rotating bell plates, which are known per se and therefore need not be described in detail.
- the invention is not limited to Bell plate with respect to the application element to be used, but includes as application elements, for example, the discs commonly used in disc atomizers, baffles, air atomizers and the like.
- separate main needle monitoring devices are preferably provided in order to independently monitor and / or adjust the valve position of the individual main needle valves.
- a common main needle valve is provided for the different paint feeds.
- the individual paint supply lines for the different paint systems are thus combined in the atomizer and then open into the common main needle valve, which is arranged upstream of the application element (for example a bell cup).
- a shut-off valve is preferably arranged upstream of the common main needle valve in the individual separate paint feeds, so that the individual paint feeds can be shut off independently of one another. This is important to prevent a chemical reaction between the different paint systems when switching between chemically incompatible paint systems (e.g., water-based paint and solvent-based paint).
- the nebulizer according to the invention preferably has separate return lines for the individual paint feeds, which allows a fast rinsing with large detergent flows or volumes in each paint feed.
- the possible detergent flows are limited because the bell cup could be flooded.
- everything that has been "dumped" into the cabin or washed out must be filtered out of the washout again.
- Returns, on the other hand are usually connected directly to corresponding collection containers, which considerably simplifies disposal.
- the return lines allow a permanent circulation of the respective paint system. Another important point for the use of returns for the different areas is the time savings through at least partially parallel processes, such as eg rinsing between color changer and atomizer (depending on the type of charge and varnish).
- these return lines are completely separated from each other in the nebulizer outside the nebulizer to prevent a chemical reaction between incompatible coating systems.
- chemically compatible coating systems there is also the possibility that the individual return lines for the various paint systems flow downstream into a common return line.
- the atomizer according to the invention may further comprise an electrostatic charge for the applied wet paint.
- an electrostatic charge for the applied wet paint In this case, either external charging and / or direct charging can be used, which is known per se from the prior art.
- the atomiser according to the invention can therefore have at least one outer electrode for the electrostatic external charging of the applied lacquer systems and / or at least one contact electrode for the electrostatic direct charging of the applied lacquer systems.
- a combination charging is possible within the scope of the invention, wherein both a direct charging and an external charging takes place.
- a combination charging is for example in the patent application DE 41 05 116 A1 so that the content of this patent application is fully attributable to the present specification.
- the paint systems water-based paint and solvent-based paint can be charged by means of direct charging.
- the possibility that water-based paint is charged only by means of external charging whereas solvent-based paint is charged by means of combination charging.
- the external charging is electrically grounded in an application of solvent-based lacquer, to prevent ignition of the solvent-based paint by flying sparks.
- outer charging with the associated electrodes can be temporarily removed from the atomizer and deposited in an application of solvent-based lacquer, which is described, for example, in the patent application EP 1 634 651 A1 is described, so that the content of the present description is fully attributable.
- the atomizer according to the invention preferably has separate rinsing lines for the individual paint systems in order to be able to supply in each case chemically compatible rinsing agents which are adapted to the respective paint system.
- each of the paint feeds is preferably assigned a rinsing pipe in each case in order to be able to feed the respectively suitable rinsing agent for the respective paint system (water-based paint or solvent-based varnish).
- an additional additional purge line is additionally provided in order to avoid a chemical reaction between the different coating systems when changing between the different coating systems.
- the additional flushing agent must therefore be chemically compatible with the various paint systems and the associated flushing agents and act as a kind of buffer.
- the number of different rinsing agents and thus, as a rule, the number of rinsing lines is greater than the number of different varnish systems or varnish feeders.
- the number of different rinsing agents or flushing lines can be greater by one than the number of different paint systems or paint feeders.
- At least one purge line in the atomizer opens into a line section downstream of the common main needle valve and downstream of the individual main needle valves.
- This arrangement of the flushing line is particularly suitable for short flushing of the application element in order to clean the application element.
- the purge lines in the atomizer open into a line section upstream of the common main needle valve or in front of the separate main needle valves.
- This arrangement of the purge line advantageously also allows flushing of the main needle valve or the main needle valves.
- At least one of the short flush purge lines in the atomizer may open into a conduit section downstream of the common main needle valve and behind the separated main needle valves, respectively, while at least one of the purge lines in the atomizer opens into a conduit section upstream lies in front of the common main needle valve or before the separate main needle valves.
- rinsing agent is then fed via the rinsing line which opens downstream behind the main needle valve or valves, while the rinsing line, which opens in front of the main needle valve or in front of the main needle valves, is used for the normal rinsing operations.
- the atomizer has two main needle valves, via which in each case a coating system (eg water-based paint or solvent-based lacquer) can be supplied.
- a coating system eg water-based paint or solvent-based lacquer
- only a single purge line is provided, which in a line section downstream flows behind the two main needle valves.
- the invention comprises not only the atomizer described above as a single component, but also a complete painting machine with such an atomizer, wherein the coating machine can be configured, for example, as a multi-axis painting robot, side machine or as a roofing machine.
- the invention is not limited to painting robots, roofing machines or side machines in terms of machine type, but includes other types of machines well known in the art.
- the rinsing of the atomizer with rinsing agents for the different paint systems can in this case be carried out by a plurality of internal rinse lines, which run in the atomizer, as already described above.
- the nebulizer has two internal purge lines, one of the two internal purge lines serving for short rinsing and therefore discharging in the nebulizer into a conduit section downstream of the main needle valve, while the other internal purge line opens into a conduit section upstream of the main needle valve ,
- the two internal purge lines in the atomizer are doing through the Spülventilanowskiowski lines supplied from several (eg three) external purge lines with different rinsing agents for the individual paint systems.
- the purge valve arrangement optionally connecting the external purge lines to the internal purge lines.
- the external flushing valve arrangement can be arranged, for example, on the so-called "arm 1" or on the so-called “arm 2" of the painting robot.
- the invention is not limited to the above examples in terms of the spatial arrangement of the Spülventilan Aunt, but also feasible in other ways.
- the coating machine according to the invention preferably has separate supply lines for the different paint systems.
- the individual supply lines for the different paint systems can each have a color changer to allow a color change in each supply strand.
- the metering of the different coating systems can be carried out in each case by separate metering pumps, which are arranged in the individual supply lines.
- the painting machine according to the invention is designed as a multi-axis painting robot and has a first robot arm ("arm 1") and a second robot arm (“arm 2"), wherein the second robot arm is movably attached to the first robot arm and directly a robot hand axis with an application device (eg a rotary atomizer) wearing.
- the two metering pumps for the different paint systems can both be attached to or in the first robot arm ("arm 1").
- the individual metering pumps for the various paint systems can be attached to or in the second robot arm (“arm 2").
- one of the metering pumps is attached to or in the first robot arm, while the other of the two metering pumps is attached to the second robot arm.
- the painting machine according to the invention can have a travel axis with a carriage which can be moved on a rail, wherein the carriage carries, for example, a painting robot.
- the metering pumps can hereby be wholly or partly arranged on the carriage.
- the invention is not limited to the examples described above in terms of the spatial arrangement of the metering pumps, but also realized in other ways.
- the invention comprises a painting booth with a painting machine according to the invention and a cabin wall, which spatially limits the painting booth.
- the metering pumps for the individual paint systems can hereby be arranged completely or partially on the cabin wall, either inside the paint booth or outside the paint booth.
- the invention also includes an atomizer operating method to enable universal operation with various paint systems.
- FIG. 1 shows a partially conventionally constructed rotary atomizer 1 with a rotatably mounted bell cup 2, wherein the rotary atomizer 1 serves both for the application of a solvent-based paint as well as for the application of a water-based paint.
- the water-based paint is in this case fed via a paint feed 3, whereas the solvent-based paint is supplied via a separate paint feed 4 in the rotary atomizer 1.
- paint feed 3 and the associated return line 5 on the one hand and the other paint feed 4 and the associated return line 6 on the other hand are separated from each other to prevent contact between the different paint systems (solvent and water paint). This is important because contact between the different paint systems would lead to a chemical reaction and thus irreversible damage to the rotary atomizer 1.
- shut-off valve RFA or RFB is arranged in the two return lines 5, 6, which allows a shut-off of the return line 5 and 6 respectively.
- shut-off valve RFA is closed when the main needle valve FA is opened, since then no circulation via the return line 5 is required.
- the shut-off valve RFA is opened when the main needle valve FA is closed so that the paint system in the paint supply 3 can then circulate via the return line 5.
- shut-off valve RFB in the return line 6 is opened when the other main needle valve FB is closed.
- the shut-off valve RFB is closed when the main needle valve FB is opened, since then no circulation via the return line 6 is required.
- the two paint feeds 3, 4 lead via a respective main needle valve FA or FB into a common line section 7, which leads to the bell cup 2.
- the rotary atomizer 1 has two flushing lines 8, 9, which run separately in the rotary atomizer 1, wherein a flushing agent for solvent-based lacquer is supplied via the flushing line 8, while a flushing agent for water-based lacquer is supplied via the flushing line 9.
- the two purge lines 8, 9 open via a respective purge valve V1 or V2 in the line section 7 between the two main needle valves FA, FB and the bell cup 2 and thereby allow a purge of the rotary atomizer 1 with the various rinsing agents, via the two purge lines 8, 9 are supplied.
- FIG. 2 is largely consistent with the embodiment FIG. 1 to avoid repetition, reference is made to the above description, wherein the same reference numerals are used for corresponding components in the following.
- a special feature of this embodiment is that in the line section 7, a common main needle valve HN is arranged, while in the two paint feeds 3, 4 each have a shut-off valve FG1 and FG2 is arranged to prevent contact between the various paint systems in the two paint feeds 3, 4.
- FIG. 3 again in part agrees with the embodiment according to FIG. 1 so as to avoid repetition to the above description
- FIG. 1 is referenced, wherein the same reference numerals are used for corresponding components in the following.
- a special feature of this embodiment is that in addition to the two paint feeds 3, 4, a third paint supply 10 is provided, which opens via a further main needle valve FC in the common line section 7.
- a separate return line 11 also branches off from the third paint feed 10 via a shut-off valve RFC, so that even in the paint feed 10 the supplied paint can circulate permanently, as already described above.
- a third purge line 12 opens via a further purge valve V3 in the line section 7, wherein the mouth of the purge lines 8, 9 and 12 in this embodiment, immediately in front of the bell cup. 2 is, so that the purge lines 8, 9, 12 are particularly suitable for short rinsing of the bell cup 2.
- the rotary atomizer 1 in this exemplary embodiment has three further flushing lines 13, 14 and 15 which open via a respective flush valve v1, v2 and v3 in the common line section 7 of the rotary atomizer 1.
- the mouth of the purge line 13-15 is here in the common line section 7 immediately behind the main needle valve FA-FC, ie at the upstream end of the common line section 7.
- the purge lines 13-15 are therefore suitable for normal flushing of the common line section 7, the of the purge lines 8, 9 and 12 can be flushed less effectively.
- the rotary atomizer allows not only a change between different paint systems (solvent and water paint), but also a change between different colors.
- different colors of a paint system can be supplied via the two paint feeds 3, 4 in the so-called A / B operation, whereas another paint system is supplied via the paint feed 10.
- FIG. 4 shows a modification of the embodiments described above, so that reference is made to avoid repetition of the above description, wherein the same reference numerals are used for corresponding components in the following.
- a special feature of this embodiment is that the rotary atomizer 1 has three paint feeds 3, 4 and 10, but only two internal rinse lines 8, 13 for supplying different rinsing agents.
- the purge line 8 opens via a purge valve KS downstream behind the common main needle valve HN in the common power section 7, so that the purge line 8 is particularly well suited for short rinsing of the bell cup 2.
- the other purge line 13 opens via a flush valve V in the common line section 7 upstream of the common main needle valve HN.
